Hi everyone! (anyone?)
This year, I'd like to read the entire Bible - the world's most published and translated book, taking 1,200 years to write (1,100 for the Old Testament and 100 years for the New Testament) and covering 2,000+ years of history, and most importantly (if you believe) the Word of God.
It's something I know I'd gain a lot from, but I just haven't had the discipline to do it and after many years of "thinking about it," I'd like to try it this year. I will keep this blog, and hopefully that'll help to keep me on track.
I'd like to welcome you to join me! I plan on using the Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan by NavPress available here. Navpress also has other Bible reading plans and I'm sure you can find other ones online, if you prefer a different format.
This plan is not a chronological reading plan, but touches four separate parts of the Bible each day - hopefully this will give me a bigger picture and help connect different parts of the Bible.
I'll link the passages for each reading on this blog. If you'd like to read with me, you can subscribe to this blog (or download the reading plan above.) :) (There are 25 readings a month, so it's okay to miss a day and make it up later.) If you'd like, feel free to "follow" this blog, leave a comment, or just leave me a message if you'd me to know you're here, as well as post thoughts as comments on this blog, as I will try also.
As we read through the Bible daily, we will be feeding and nourishing ourselves with real food, renewing our minds, and will hopefully lead to transformation and help us live our lives to the fullest as God intended.
It will become a year long feast!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
-Nancy
