  1. What do you think about Genesis 4:17 (where did Cain's wife come from)?

  2. That's an interesting question. Cain's wife was probably a sister. Adam and Eve were the first two people, so all descendants came from them. Although the names (and dates of birth) are not all mentioned, Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters.

Some people find it weird that Cain probably married his sister. But incest wasn't forbidden by God until later. Also, because this was at the beginning of creation, there had been virtually no genetic mutations, and so this didn't lead to genetic disorders in their children.

  3. So my thoughts come after hearing Pastor Enochs dramatic monologue. He was talking about the generations and that he (Matthew) only listed a certain number of generations from Abraham to David to exile to Jesus to make it easier for the oral history to be conveyed. I feel that this is also the case for the "sudden apperance" of Cain's wife. I feel the writings are just focusing on the main players or those of importance instead of having an individual's total life history.
